One of the joys of travelling is the chance to see how a city apart from your own expresses it’s personality, how people interact with the space and how blimmin gorgeous they can make it. Perth is a really unusual city in that it actively encourages street art and there isn’t a lot of what I’d call “standard graffiti” about, meaning that you can find some really beautiful things in surprising places. It’s attracted some really passionate fans who can be found on Facebook and who have also produced a fantastic updated map. There is also a well supported public art festival every year, as well as regular exhibitions organised by contemporary, less stuffy art galleries like Outre, which has an outpost in Northbridge.
I’m no photographer, so please excuse the sightly wobbly shots!
I should also give special mention to the car owners who have a great sense of humour in selecting their number plates. Couldn’t resist a few shots!
Great Post.
